Frequently Asked Questions

  • I highly recommend hand washing using a wool safe wash such as Soak and drying flat or lined dried.

Note: While the mill states my base is a machine washable superwash yarn, this is a hand-dyed product. The dye was completely exhausted and the water ran clear in the rinsing processing, however, some bleeding may occur with different detergents and water quality.

  • Mild bleeding can occur - I have done my dutiful best to rinse and set the color, however, there may be a slight bleed of the deeply saturated colors. After you have completed your sock or fine yarn project it is recommended to hand wash in a wool wash to ensure no bleeding on other garments.

  • The small batches of yarn are dyed similarly but they will not match; as the saying goes: sisters, not twins. For a larger project, I’d recommend altering your skeins mid-project for a nice balance.

  • I would be happy to cake up yarn from the hank for you. The shipping charges will increase accordingly, due to package rates with our shipper. So far no increase has taken place with cakes vs. hanks. Please feel free to e-mail me and we can figure out what the rate would be to make sure your yarn arrives in perfect condition. If making socks and would prefer two, 50 gram cakes I am willing to also provide that service, just ask.

  • I am totally in your boat. I am not one to enjoy surprises and like to pick out my yarn and make the choices I like (I have a rather large stash) and don’t want to repeat too many colors. I would absolutely be happy to send you a private picture of what has been dyed as long as you promise to keep it a secret from those who want the surprise.
